Job Description
Responsibilities and Duties
- Complete and accurate code assignment has become important for wound care professionals.
- Conduct audits and coding reviews to ensure all documentation is accurate and precise
- Assign and sequence all codes for services rendered
- Collaborate with the billing department to ensure all bills are satisfied in a timely manner
- Communicate with insurance companies about coding errors and disputes
- Submit statistical data for analysis and research by other departments
- Contact physicians and other health care professionals with questions about treatments or diagnostic tests given to patients with regard to coding procedures
- Ensure appropriate coding as per CMS guidelines.
- Serves as a resource regarding insurance resolutions and coding questions
- Adhere to the coding guidelines and legal requirements to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations
- Take responsibility in helping and educating the team across coding and billing per requirement
- To maintain Knowledge of current updates in coding and billing principles, including federal regulations and guidelines for documentation, and ICD-10 guidelines
SKILLS Require
- Minimum of 2 – 5 years of Interventional Radiology coding experience
- Certified Coder
